Radicals are a way of classifying kanji visually. The radical is a common part of the character such as the 亻 in 仏 or the 禾 in 私. Clicking a radical gives a list of kanji classified under that radical.
Each character has only one radical, which is usually either on the left or the top of the character. If you want to search more for components of kanji, try the Multiradical search.
